Synod Executive Committee – Convenor: Revd Kim Plumpton

Oversees the whole work of the Synod, plans strategically, and approves sales, leases and major works to properties

Mission and Discipleship Committee – Convenor: Revd Sally Bateman

Promotes the nurturing of faith of all ages, and new patterns of mission activity for growth and service.  Facilitates learning activities.

Pastoral Committee – Convenor: Revd Kate Hackett

Oversees pastorates, deployment, ministerial vacancies, ministers and lay preachers

Children’s & Youth Work Committee – Convenor: Revd Julian Sanders

Supports work with children and young people in local churches and organises wider events

The United Reformed Church (Northern Province) Trust Limited – Convenor: Revd Alan McGougan

Manages the finances, properties and staff of the Synod and oversees local churches in these areas

Subgroups oversee investments, good stewardship of properties and manses, grants, property sales and ministry & mission payments

Listed Buildings Advisory Committee – Convenor: Revd Andrew Lonsdale

Oversees care of churches that are listed buildings or in conservation areas and makes recommendations to Synod Executive Committee

North East District Council – President: Revd Dr Trevor Jamison

Consults with churches on redundant properties and makes recommendations to Synod Executive Committee (except where South East Northumberland Ecumenical Area exercises these powers)
