What is Staying Alive 2016?
It is a joint partnership event between Northern Synod and the Diocese of Newcastle.
It is an opportunity for young people across the North East to spend a long weekend together – exploring faith, taking part in worship, chilling out, trying new stuff.
What do we get for our money?
Supervised activities from 10 am on Thursday 28 July to 3pm on Sunday 31 July, all meals (except lunch on Thursday – bring a packed one!) – from Thursday supper to Sunday lunch as well as any materials you collect as part of the weekend. Transport to and from the Outreach activities on Saturday. But never fear – you can spend your money in the Coffee Bar.
How much does it cost?
Early Bird rate (before 30th April): £50. Normal rate: £60 (after 30th April)
(Reductions for 3 or more siblings – please contact us for details).
What sort of things are planned?
The programme has not been finalised completely yet but will include:
- Workshops on a variety of subjects
- Community Projects
- Guest speakers
- Coffee bar
- Team competitions
- Talent show
- ……and much, much more!
Where will we be staying?
We will be staying at Seahouses Hostel.
There is the option to camp on the lawn or there are limited spaces in dormitories in the hostel.
It has basic facilities, showers and bathrooms.
Remember space is limited –
places are allocated on a first come first served basis
and we may have to limit the number that come from any one church.
