Bill Clegg of St John’s Kingston Park is looking for people interested in the relationship between Christianity and science. See his message below – and if you are able to, act on it quickly!
There’s a day conference coming up very soon at St John’s Church in Kingston Park that may be of interest to you. The subject is “Science and Faith: Building Bridges” and it is designed for anyone interested in the relationship of modern science and the Christian faith, not just for scientists – indeed, one of the speakers is a sociologist, not a scientist. An information flyer is attached. The date is Saturday 11 November, 10am to 4:30pm, and pre-registration is necessary for the sake of catering (lunch is included in the modest charge of £25; £12.50 concessions).
At present we do not have enough people registered for this event to go ahead; for it to do so, we will need a significant number of registrations by the end of this week (one week ahead of the date). So if you are interested, please go to goo.gl/Ynu4WU (as given on the flyer) and register as soon as possible. If you do register and we have, reluctantly, to cancel the event, your payment will be returned in full.
Yours sincerely
Bill Clegg
on behalf of Christians in Science and the Faraday Institute for Science and Religion
Sorry, Bill but this has come to my notice too late for me to get there. I only discovered the Faraday Institute earlier this year in conversation with someone at our son and daughter-in-law’s church in Southampton – he was Professor Keith Fox!
I am a retired academic from the University of Liverpool and my wife and I now live in Rothbury. Please keep me informed of future events directly, if you can.
