It’s Holiday Club time in a number of our churches. Children and their families are equally delighted, as the school holidays drag on, to find a few mornings’ worth of organised activities – and experienced volunteer helpers enjoy running action packed programmes that put a shine on everyone’s week. It’s a great opportunity for a ministry to children, and for sharing the gospel message of God’s love for each and for all.
St Andrew’s, Monkseaton had a very enjoyable Holiday Club held in the church themed on Animals in God’s Kingdom. The mornings included, play acting, singing the Holiday Club song, and craft work including decorating a money box and preparing the pictured seaside frieze.
The week ended with a barbecue when parents came to join the children and help to take their pictures, money boxes and collages home.
St Andrew’s Press Officer Heather Carr said “These Holiday Clubs which have been running for many years now at St Andrew’s are ‘just magic’. Friendships are formed, ideas are created and it is always a lovely start to the children’s holidays.”
