St Mark’s Amble report that their recent variety show was a huge success: extra seating had to be found, and some people had to stand. The church raised £1000 for Christian Aid, an absolutely stunning amount for so small a congregation!
They are now running a Talents Fundraiser: everyone gets £15 to try to increase over a year. The ‘Berets and Beaujolais’ night, with its Parisian piano bar, cheese, wine and crackers proved to be a fantastic evening which raised over £600 for Church funds.
Photos below include St Mark’s organist/piano bar player, Isabel who organised the event; the Church Secretary and an Elder performing Victoria Wood’s ‘Let’s Do It’ at the show; and invitees to last week’s Garden Party given by The Duchess of Northumberland for volunteers and helpers: Mary Davidson (for Amble Youth Project) and her husband, Eric, and Sue Swanston (for The Puffin Lounge at St. Mark’s) and her husband, Atholl.
