Ray Anglesea reports from Crook
Friends from the URC Northern Synod, Durham Diocese, West Durham Methodist Circuit, Cranmer Hall (St. John’s College, Durham) and Crook Churches Together were invited to attend an Advent Workshop held in Crook St Andrew’s Dawson Street, Local Ecumenical Partnership, on Friday 9th October 2015.
New and exciting resources including music, poetry, art, new hymns, bible readings, prayers and crafts were considered for public worship for the four Sundays in Advent as well as material suitable for home groups, quiet days and Advent Carol Services.
The Workshop was led by Ray Anglesea together with Sarah Moon, Regional Co-ordinator for Christian Aid who introduced this year’s Advent/Christmas Christian Aid Resources.
Some of the Advent resources presented during the workshop were brought together and used in a small act of worship which concluded an enjoyable and exciting day.
My thanks and appreciation were given to Margaret Stephenson, Joan Turnbull and Maurice Aspey.
A handout of the material presented in the Workshop is available on request.
